Australia

Following success in New Zealand, Intrahealth expanded into Australia. Research commenced in 2000 establishing a clear requirement for a stable, robust and flexible suite of products to meet the needs of the growing number of large (and often complex) GP and Specialist organisations in Australia. Intrahealth opened its doors in 2001 in for analysis and development of Profile and Profile Specialist (integrated clinical and practice management system) with the first GP practice implementing Profile in February 2002. Since then, Intrahealth has experienced steady growth in these segments along with allied health and aged care.

Through the philosophy of supplying localised software, Intrahealth has employed and contracted local GPs and specialists, has established agency relationships and GP Divisional alliances throughout Australia. These relationships continue to flourish and confirm Intrahealth’s suite of products to be truly aligned to achieving organisational efficiencies and clinical outcomes.

Intrahealth has developed a strong customer base throughout Australia, Including:

Alliances with a number of progressive Divisions of General Practice,
Several large cardiology groups
The Australian Antarctic Division (Polar Medicines Unit)
Several corporate General Practice and Specialist organisations
In excess of 1000 Gps and Specialists using Profile and Profile Specialist

A strong movement towards accelerating IT and IT services in General Practice and Specialist organisations, consolidation of organisations, the need for a consumer focus in health and a greater need for population health data will see continual expansion of the full suite of Intrahealth products and significant investment in Australia.
