Accession is an Intrahealth product and service that allows and encourages the participation of patients in managing their health.
Accession is also a coordinating hub for healthcare providers. By connecting Profile practices, through Internet enabled access, health professionals can interact with each other and their patients.
Patients can have online access to:
make appointments
retrieve personal medical information
check results
send observations
look up their medication and disease information
even search for a doctor
and participate in the management of their health.
GPs can enhance their interaction with specialists with online referrals.
Pharmacies can also benefit with online access to orders placed by doctors from designated practices.
The eHealth module (Accession) is a layer that can be placed over Insync and/or Profile allowing patients and healthcare providers to work with each other. It uses Web Browser based technologies and is fully integrated into Profile.
Subject to the provider or administrator determining the degree of access patients/clients or health care providers can:
Search for health care providers of certain types, locations and characteristics
Log on to their registered health providers, or register with a new health provider
Make appointments, change or cancel appointments or confirm pending appointments
Review recalls, see upcoming recalls, read the reason for a recall, make an appointment for a recall
Reorder standing medication orders and check the status of the order
Check laboratory results, graph them, seek an interpretation using a clinical rule agreed by health providers
Review problem lists, read more information about their specific problems and be routed to health system approved web sites for additional details
Undertake self assessments that are reviewed by a clinical rule and escalated if necessary
See specialised and individualised views of their clinical information
